Mayorga was explosive, I still would put him top 5 ATG for " s h i t talking" and when you look at his ascent he beat some damn decent fighters... In addition to the obvious Vernon Forrest scalp (RIP champ). Then he kind of seemed to lose the explosiveness that guided him... I always liked him...
Mayorga was interesting. I don't know much about his actual trash talking. Got any examples? He trash smoked, but was he a royal trash talker too? He had the attitude for it. Did he have the aptitude?

        - - Jim Jeffries went from invincible All Time to meh because he succumbed to the most riches of his day to come back vs Jack Johnson after 6 yrs of retirement and 100 lbs of blubber needing subtraction from his body.

At least he got paid his worth...

He would do things like telling Vargas " I will apologize to your mama after I put you in the hospital" things like that... and of course he was always smoking lol... Reminds me of when Toney told Peter "After I beat your a s s I will buy you some more farm animals (Peter was from Africa)."

Mayorga was genuinely funny... I wish I could remember more

            - - TwoTon Toney was pretty much a punching bag for the last 5 years of his career. Ali was pretty much a punching bag after Foreman damaged him permanently in Africa, hence the horrific beating he took from Wepner after he ducked the Foreman rematch.

Both became near unintelligible with Ali near helpless years later. Don't know how well Toney gets around as he ain't in the news much like Ali was.

here's an issue to argue queeny. Was ali braindamaged from getting hit or was parkinson's nothing to do with boxing? will that ever be resolved. some say it was boxing others say completely unrelated.

Ali had Parkinson's Syndrome not Parkinson's Disease.

It can be caused by several factors with head trauma being one of its most common.

Ali never boxes, he doesn't get "sick." If that is what you are asking.

                From ChatGPT:

Parkinson's Syndrome is a broader term that refers to a group of neurological conditions that cause movement problems similar to those seen in Parkinson's disease. Parkinson's syndrome can be caused by a variety of factors, including certain medications, repeated head trauma, strokes, and other neurodegenerative disorders such as multiple system atrophy (MSA) or progressive supranuclear palsy.

Parkinson's disease is a specific diagnosis, whereas Parkinson's syndrome encompasses a range of conditions that produce Parkinson-like symptoms.

                  so it could be perhaps..
wouldn't you expect to see parkinson's syndrome in many boxers then as they age. I dont see a common trend.

                    - - Ali was clearly intellectually challenged as Cassius Clay. Being around non NOI folks smarted him up some, but clearly it weren't too smart to continue to get beat up in most of his matches after Big George neutered him...
