Why are Rocky Marciano fan's so delusional?

They constantly rank this guy as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time even though by modern standards he would be a small cruiser weight/slightly above average light heavyweight. These people are so delusional these people act like logic doesn't apply to Rocky Marciano. They will tell you since. Mike Tyson, George Foreman, Lennox Lewis, Wladimir Klitschko ect were beat by modern sized heavyweights then that means 180 pound Rocky Marciano could do the same. They will tell you sized doesn't matter in boxing but yet there are weight classes and if you ask them then could Floyd Mayweather beat Marciano they will say no because Mayweather is too small. So size only doesn't matter when it benefits their point.

Marciano fanboys are so delusional that they can't grasp that even if you want to say Marciano was a hard puncher for 180 pounds ( He wasn't and I will get to that in a second). How does that equate to him being a hard puncher compared to 200 plus pound heavyweights? It is like saying since Julian Jackson punched harder for 155-160 that means Jackson could knock out Deontay Wilder.

Marciano wasn't even good for 180 pound standards. Marciano was lucky to fight in a era where the Mafia controlled boxing and staged his fights and hand picked his opponents. His KO percentage is a product of that. It is like saying since Tye Fields and David Rodriguez had high KO percentages then it must of meant they punched hard. No Tye Fields and Rodriguez didn't fight anybody and neither did Marciano (Besides old glass chin, Joe Louis, Jersey Joe Walcott, Archie Moore and faded Ezzard Charles).

The only other boxing fans who are this delusional are Tyson Fury, Wladimir Klistchko and Mike Tyson fans. But at least this guys were heavyweights so you can compare them to heavyweights.

You know so little about the fight game.

        It's a tradition.

Everyone knows the rule: When boxing is the topic, a white man has to pull Rocky Marciano out his ass.

Now you can choose to be unreasonable, but you should do it elsewhere.

P.S. If I follow your logic regarding the progression of boxing, then in 25 years you must conclude that Tyson Fury, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Etc. will all be bums too.

See you're actually saying nothing of substance that hasn't been said by youth to age for a thousand years.

Judge a fighter by his own time, against his peers, ortherwise you're just a wanker.

                - - Every ring record that anyone ever recorded of Rocky say he held the heavywt title and retired undefeated.

U Hemorrhoids flaring up on a public boxing forum ain't a good look. I hear Prep H solves a lot of problems.

I am not banned though and everything I typed was right. I also blocked Willie Pep 229 so I don't see why this person keeps typing to me. I only seen his comment because of Nathan Sturley replied to him. Lol but the moment this kid brought up Tyson Fury in the same breath as Floyd Mayweather I realized why I put him on ignore. First off Tyson Fury isn't great even for this time frame. He beat a old Wladimir Klistchko and a unskilled Wilder. Even then Tyson Fury is a heavyweight. Since forever anything over 200 pounds is considered a heavyweight. Marciano isn't a heavyweight anymore. He would be a light heavyweight. So people still considered him a all time great at heavyweight is hilarious beyond hilarious.

Even if you wanted to say well was Marciano good for 185 pound standards the answer would be a flat no. Beating washed up has been doesn't make you great. Also 2 of those has been were much smaller Marciano naturally (Ezzard Charles and Archie Moore). If you say well was Marciano great for his time frame, The answer would be still be no for the same reason. Marciano best wins were again Archie Moore, Ezzard Charles, Jersey Joe Walcott, and Joe Louis. Each of these guys were either past their primes physically or on the down side of their careers. Besides those guys Marciano fought mob controlled fighters, tomato cans, other old men and people paid by the mafia to take a dive for him.

George Foreman, Larry Holmes, Muhammad Ali turned pro 50-60 years ago and are still great by modern standards. All each of these guys are still heavyweights by modern standards. Marciano wasn't great for a 185 pound guy and he isn't a heavyweight by modern standards.
