  • These Joshua fans and their Post-Tramatic Stress Disorder.

I love Joshua. Even make pilgrimages to London and Cardiff to join in the parties thrown in his honor; but making indefensible insults towards Wilder are NOT going to undo Joshua's disasters, the likes of which Wilder NEVER experienced...

You lay down with dogs You wake up with fleas.

If the WBA title holds meaning to you, so too do their ratings and policies. ...And history!

    Lol. What a mess.

But still; the guy keeps training, fighting and winning under the only...

  • Wilder against Joshua 7 years too late, remains a fight that will make big money. Not because of the current standing of those two; but because they are both among the most famous players in the game.
(See Jake Paul's PPV numbers to better understand that phenomenon).

    Wilder needs...

  • It's sounds squeamish, I know; but I personally watch for when debates go insulting on message boards. I back off a little because I don't want to contribute (much) to any poster; well informed or not, purposely antagonistic or not; being driven away from the herd.
Why is this anything to care...

  • What a fight that was. Mecca for me.
Wouldn't go anywhere near trying to chisel that win out of Smokin Joe's hands.

    Dig?
Quarry and Bonavena for "tuneups"? Like WW I was a tuneup for WW II?...

  • Correct. All of the Sundowners had boatloads of unrecorded paid fights. In the first quarter of the 20th century, shockingly; white newspapers believed they had more important things to do than cover the doings inside the juke joints.

Dave Hatch, Hunter Briscoe, Black Fitzsimmons (Ulysses...

  • There are many good points that have been brought up here in defense of the toughest sport in the world that you can't tap out in.
One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the fact that experience, critical in all sports, and indeed all professions, has a unique twist for Boxing. In boxing, every...

  • It is often forgotten that Jess Willard was a heck of a fighter, with an excellent resume. Fans today might consider him an earlier version of Vitali Klitschko. They possessed similar height, weight, ability and build. While Vitali benefitted from the easements that exist in the modern sport; what truly...

  • I agree.

Interestly, here in the United States, the National Football League may soon have to relay on a draft that features players who have, yes, indeed; never played the game for greater than 4 years, and American colleges and universities will be in the business of giving their recruted...

  • And.....you have to have a natural aptitude or you're out of luck.
Jake has got some of that, let's face it.
But we can't discount the massive advantages he's benefited from either.

At this point, Jake is not quite Tommy Fury level in terms of abilities.

    The success...

Johnson was human, and old; and Willard was far better than the Dempsey film would have you believe....

  • Even so, he's not at all knowledgeable on Boxing.

He's just mad that Jake Paul won, and venting in a "I'm taking my ball and going home" sort of way.
Insulting the hardest sport there is in the process....
