What about all the great Chinese and Hong Kong action/kung-fu movies made in the 80's. Like the ones with Jackie Chan did. Police Story for example.

THE MOVIES where done in the 80's you genius. and because of that, the movie quality isn't going to be as good as recent movies.

But you have to look at it as these movies are older and most still kick ass. Like

The Last Dragon- Movie is the ****.
The Goonies- Movie is the ****
Big Trouble in Little China- Movie is ****in Great
Karate Kid 1 & 2- movie is great because i do that style of karate
scareface- What can i say more about this one?
        E.T.- Raw movie
        The Rockys in the 80's.
        BLood Sport- Jean is raw.
        Commando- Arnold is raw
Kick Boxer- Movie is pretty good
The Predator- THIS MOVIE IS TIMELESSS

and i could go on and on
Damn, If you just read on a bit further to the ''Wes Craven - Nightmare on Elm Street'' where I state It's not the special effects but the poor acting and ****** script in that movie that bugs me then.. For one I wouldn't have to repeat myself to a ****** such as yourself.. Plus you wouldn't look so ****ing dumb.

I have nothing against the special effects, read on and you'll see that I state Halloween that is an even OLDER movie than Nightmare on Elm street with even more outdated special effects is a GREAT movie.. It got a nice script, acting suspense and it all works. I could say the same thing about Alien. Oh, and I didn't say **** about 1930's movies ''suck because they're outdated'' naw you dumb ****.. Movies back then had to rely greatly on dialogue lights and chemistry etc.. Making many of them a cenimatic masterpiece. Read the whole thing before writing ****** **** like that.

I agree with you though, Breakfast Club and Back To The Future aren't my most enjoyable films. But you cannot argue with Predator!

Nah, Predator is a great movie no doubt.. I might even have enjoyed Aliens more than Alien.. Except it was hugely lacking the suspense & chock effect that made Alien great.

                  Good responses from thread dissenters.

I sometimes think the same about films from the '80's, but dig a little deeper and there was some great films done then. I think it's just the general (perceived) naffness of the decade that clouds peoples thinking. Plus, the aesthetic and musical scores can seems horribly dated. But hey, a good story is a good story.
