It's the right move. Retiring as a champion on the back of a dominant win.

    Now, stay retired!

I thank God for my honest and wonderful and kind parents for their care, love and warmth I’ve felt throughout my life. My father [Anatoly] taught me not only boxing, but how to be a role model for my own children.
This is the most important quote. Too many people have children but don't know how to love them.

Sad to see him retire nowadays, but it's good timing to. His skills had deteriorated and you could tell. The dude's style was for a young fighter. He was a constant motion in the ring with some of the most unique and excellent footwork I've ever seen. He was stepping in and stepping out with a timing that threw off so many fighters. It was nearly impossible to get his timing because no other fighter moved that way.

It's funny because when he first burst onto the scene I didn't like him. I thought he was too arrogant, too good looking and all hype. I loved to see him take the Salido loss even if it was controversial. The truth was, I was just a hater back then, lol. I continued to mostly hate on him as he continued to win after that and go on the NoMasChenko run. I only started to respect his style and what he brought to the table after he gave Teofimo a great second half of the fight. Perhaps at that point I was watching as an old man vs a young up and comer and thought, I need to root for the dude who I grew up along side age wise.

At that point, not only did I root for him every fight after, I went back to rewatch some of his best hits and really appreciate what he was doing in the ring. He's a once in a generation type of fighter in that his style will probably never be replicated anytime soon.

Yeah he has had a great career but he could have done way more. If he won Haney or Teo those would have been big wins. He could have also fought Shakur and Tank yet decided to retire cause he has no motivation yet held the belt hostage for a year.
                      Lopez lost to Kambosos
Haney could not Stop Kambosos(twice) and OLD Loma Did
