We're talking about an alphabet belt, so who cares? Bivol is still the world champion, and the Bivol-Beterbiev III winner can defend the world title against Benavidez later. The WBC belt is irrelevant.

Another thing to consider...if Bivol fights Benny first he would stay undisputed but could get hit by another mando before getting Beter3 and vacate anyway. Doing Beter first then unifying with Benny will give him priority over mandos.

Would I have preferred Benavidez vs Bivol before the trilogy? Yes. But I don't mind the trilogy. I liked both fights. A few Questions...not specifically to you but in general... if it's ANOTHER close fight/decision, will a 4th be asked of them. What if Turki throws out another career high pay day? What if that happens and Benavidez gets screwed over again?

Benavidez doesnt just want a belt(s), he wants to fight the best in the division. As he wanted to do at 168 but Ginger pulled b!tch and his fanboys made excuses...

The bigger question is whether Benavidez has the guts to fight the winner of the trilogy, because once PBC gets that belt I can see them rotating it around within and never unifying just like that WBA 140 belt...

Although I'm not a betting person but if the question was which was more likely, the winner (assuming Bivol for this case) refusing to re-unify with Benny or Benny/PBC refusing to do the undisputed unification I'd say the latter aka PBC is more likely to think of some reason not to fight Bivol citing money or whatever, but after the trilogy is over, Bivol has no one else that is better money to fight since Canelo isn't rematching him. Instead of a shabby mandatory I do think he'd go for Benny next.

Good for you WBC. This is them taking preemptive action. They are not going to sit idle for the next 18 months while Turki and Dana White plots on their demise. They are flexing their muscle on the new kids. The WBC is not going to stand by scared like the British promoters. As a matter of fact all the orgs should start taking action. If Dana and Turki have no desires to work with the belts or promoters then they need to start making plans of their own. PBC Top rank and the orgs should be on a conference call right now planning to squeeze Dana out the business!
