  • If Crawford loses which I expect him to, he can retire having gotten a nice retirement paycheck better than anything he would've gotten at 154 without having his luster get less due to the "he challenged the best, Canelo was just too big" excuse. He won't have had to fight at 154 again and...

  • Seriously... “Inoue has two guys left to fight that are the best in his division, Akhmadaliev and Picasso,” ???

Erm, not that I'm really that interested in either of them anymore, but if I were to choose someone after MJ that Inoue hasn't already fought yet, I'd say friggin...

  • Not remembering the Chocolatito fight from over a decade ago is understandable but the most recent Nakatani fight was in the end of 2022, less than three years ago. Random examples but even if it wasn't a "huge" fight with a lot of meaning, people remember that Canelo has fought Callum Smith...

  • Frankly at this point I wonder if Eddie is just not very smart (to say it politely) because anything he says negative about Rodriguez just further damages Yafai's reputation (if there is anything left to further hurt) and makes it even harder for the chance of making a quick turnaround for possibly...

  • Sorry if it was intended to be sarcasm on your end as well, but I think the point was that the mentioned Junto Nakatani, Kazuto Ioka, Donnie Nietes, and Chocolatito all fought Rodriguez so people who watched them fight also likely knows of Rodriguez regardless of the result....

  • Which, with hindsight included, REALLY is the ******ity especially when you consider at the time the fight happened, the 4 beltholders were Teraji, Akui, Ayala, and Olascuaga. That Ayala was rated above Teraji or Akui let alone BOTH by any organization was pure ******ity.

    ...Frankly I think...

  • Inoue's December fight against Ball is currently no longer a guarantee when you consider Ball is fighting Goodman in August and there's no guarantee that he can fight again in December. Now before anyone says I'm delusional for thinking Goodman is gonna defeat Ball, the point I'm trying to make is that...

  • True but I mean the "Ring champion" title is the only thing making Pacman an eight division champion although he technically only won six alphabet divisions.

Not trying to take away Pac's legacy because the opponents he beat for them were legit, but more trying to make the point...

  • I meant if this fight never happened, and instead of Sandoval Teraji had just ended up fighting Yafai in July. Rodriguez is unrelated in that situation.

In terms of resume addition, I think it would've been Yafai (undefeated if not for this fight Tokyo Gold Medalist) > Sandoval (highest...

  • Forget Bam, with what he showed tonight Teraji and Yabuki would've battered Yafai as well and although he's beltless right now Akui as well. Although he's rated relatively low on the Ring rankings, I'm not sure if he can win against Olascuaga either.

Galal seems like a nice dude as a person...

  • I thought so back then but was willing to give the benefit of the doubt and credit that Yafai may have been special as well, even if not Bam. Turns out indeed Sunny was truly a broken shell and probably would've lost to anyone in the top tier of the division at that point. Curiel who he fought in his...

  • Lost in number of punches thrown. Lost in number of punches landed. Lost in % of punches landed. Lost in points. Lost in damage. Lost in downs. Far too big of a difference where hometown advantage couldn't do anything from a complete loss.

In all honesty, given Yafai's age this might have...

  • In hindsight had Yafai not had this fight and Kenshiro vs Yafai was next month, it would've been a two birds one stone of a low risk high-enough reward (defeat the Tokyo Olympics gold medalist which would've been some brownie points for Kenshiro atleast in Japan given the whooping Yafai got....
