I know both are still active, and have fewer than 30 fights apiece. But they are clearly the class of the current light heavyweight crop, and are both getting up there in age, so I ask: Where do you rate these two historically in regards to all time light heavyweights?

Bivol & Beterbiev

I don't think either crack the top 20. To few fights, to few decent opponents. Dariuz Michalszewski better than both these guys with a better overall resume.
Bivol is skilled with good movement, has the better shot at being an all time fighter. If he can beat Benavidez and a few other ranked guys, who knows.
Beterbiev is slowing down. He is a wonderful pressure fighter but easy to figure out if you can survive that power. Again for this fight he looked pretty basic. One two. One One two. An occasional hook or body punch. He just doesn't mix his punches up well to create openings in my opinion. We'll see what the future holds for him, ,but I can't see him becoming an ATG at this latr age. Hopefully im wrong and he still has some big fights left in him.

Bivol should be 2-0 against Beterbiev and still undefeated.
I don’t know if I see him beating a Michael Moorer, though. Let alone an Ezzard Charles or a Michael Spinks.

I can see them being competitive from early 1960s to late 1970s. I can’t see them getting past Harold Johnson, Bob Foster, or the stacked division of 1979 and beyond. But there were a few years on that range where the title was vacant or champions who they could possibly beat.

I will go against the grain here, I think Bivol will end up in the top 10.
He should still be undefeated but got screwed by the judges.
His skills are exceptional.SouthpawRight likes this.
