    The hardest punches ever landed?

In the literal sense I mean so they will of course be heavyweights.

Three that immediately spring to mind -

Foreman incredibly launching Joe into the air with an uppercut.

Shavers blasting Holmes (the punch was actually too hard, Larry woke up when he b*nged his head on the canvas).

The savage right Lewis landed to gain revenge over Rahman.

Anomalocaris I know you are not a fan of iron mike and I am but I submit these two of his many ko's.
When I saw that ettiene ko the way he went down it looked so damn hard.
but i know others disagree. Fair enough.

I don't know if it is the hardest, but Rockys KO of Walcott (I) has to be up there. The thing is, I don't know if it has more force, technically making it harder, as much as it was also extremely accurate, and (and this is a big thing) well timed. Jersey Joe was in the process of throwing a big right at the same time, he was opened up and his balance was being transferred forward into the punch.

So are we measuring simply the force of the punch thrown, or how devastating the punch was?

There is a school of thought which says he named it after his high school sweetheart but according to my research, he named it after a dance move which originated with a 1936 song called "Doin' the Suzie-Q" by Lil Hardin Armstrong.

No good evidence found on whether it was because the punch itself resembled a dance move or whether it was the opponent doing the dancing, or neither!

              - - Reynaldo Snipes delivered the best single punch on Holmes. When Lar arose, he promptly jerked face first into the corner and had to be turned around by the ref.

Of course Tyson brutal combos left Lar crucified on the canvas for over a minute.

Of course the most humiliating was Butterbean mocking him the whole fight before knocking him down in the last round where he got up and fled the ref's count to ride the ropes to the next corner that bought him time enough for the final bell.

Tubby Lar is a mighty fun fighter to talk about.

No there is evidence that the punch was a mimic of the dance move.

Rocky stated that it was the twist at the waist, or something to that effect, that gave it its power.

                Here is ChatGPT explaining it.

                What was Marciano’s “Suzie Q”?

It was his devastating overhand right, known for its leverage and knockout power.

Rocky was not a tall or rangy heavyweight, so he generated power from his legs and full body torque.

The way he would twist his body and step into the punch resembled the rhythm and mechanics of the Suzie Q dance move.

                    - - Look, it's OK to be a Tubby Lar Light in the Loafers fan. He was a decent fighter, but like Crawford, he had the personality of a rattlesnake and couldn't draw flies. I assume they were both loved by their mamas, so there it is gift wrapped for U!
