Going to take a while to fill those jobs. Plus there's a lack of truckers and has been for years.

- -Drove a 80,000 lb refrigerated rig for a year 15 yrs ago, something I'd wanted all my life and nothing like it in the world.

They're federally subsidized and get triple subsidized when calculating their trucking schools and the number of students having to drop out that leave them in a sorta debt bondage, Win/Win/Win!

Dangerous as fuuk with almost zero respect accorded by the big receivers like Walmart and
Kraft/Heinz and law enforcement with special contempt by highway engineers and general public.

They were allowing Mexican truckers in when I left intact and wiser to the nuts and bolts of the way BIG INC. operates.

Most all I met involved with the industry at the lower level starting with the taco trucks in the receiver yard upwards were salt of the earth types striving to do their best. Wouldn't trade that year for anything.

They dont get paid a lot because it's easy

Very true. I look at it like being an auto worker (I’m an auto worker) people like to say anyone can do it, and I used to think that too, but it turns out a lot of people can’t work hard for eight hours a day.

And as for truck, no thanks. I couldn’t be away from my family for six days a week.
