No they cant. Driving an 18 wheeler is nothing like driving a pickup truck.

If I'm reading it right this seems to be a proposed partisan action from some Truckers who are worried about the impact a ***** administration would have on their livlihoods rather than an industry wide action over pay and conditions.

Lots of links that's just the one I grabbed. But yes, this is about ***** and fuel prices ect.
When you say you will ban fracking that means energy dependent on others. Cost will go up.

The stop the tires group does seem to be basically a partisan group of Trump supporting Truckers but it not looking like they been particularly effective so far (the apparently wildcated on the 11th), nor that they represent the viewpoints of the trucking industry as a whole.

Hobbled, ironically, by the weakening of the Unions.

Hmm. So I guess it's more the indies rather than the company dudes gonna be most severely effected by fuel price hikes. The company dudes won't be paying for their own juice right?

I have no idea. It's not something I've looked into very much. I heard they were striking, I thought I'd share so people could prep.

I'm fine with a peaceful protest but no, I haven't researched their cause.

Yeah it's an interesting story, I'm just looking into myself. General terms I'm into collective bargaining for better wages or working conditions - I was a trade union rep for a coupla years - but this looks more like an overtly partisan action rather than one with support from Truckers as a whole.

Stll I can see these guys' point on the Fracking thing. From an environmental standpoint I'm very much opposed to fracking but there's little doubt that there will be a significant cost to the US economy in the short to medium term. Definitely a thorny issue..

Most likely I'd imagine the political and economic fallout from an all out ban would make it unlikely, so probably the most dire of the economic warnings ain't likely to materialise but even the proposed ban on fracking on federal lands would be fairly significant I think.
