Wish I could take credit, man, but I wasn't even a good activist back in the day, probably more a liability than anything... one of the fuckwits who'd drink too much and be too ready to kick off. Still ain't for what it's worth, just your everyday asshole tryna be a little better than I was. What I do know is that there was many many good and commited people fighting the cause peacefully too.... least here in the UK there was, and the sense I'm getting is a similar kind of movement.

What I'm getting at mainly is that's there's a lot more to what's going on than rioting and looting, and in fact according to Police reports even the vast majority of that is being done by opportunistic local criminals or loose cannon dickheads with their own axe to grind. Shame to tar a whole movement with positive goals because of the actions of a tiny minority even if those are the ones who get the bulk of the headlines.

Always has been that way though, take any protest movement from history, labour rights, emancipation in the UK, sufferage, anti-war, US Civil rights... take your pick. Without fail they've all either been demonised based on the actions of a few or ridiculed by the media of their time and less progressive elements in society. There's a pattern to these things I figure. You're a smart dude, QR, you already know this.

This bit is an unfortunate truth, and I won't lie, as a younger man I was one of those more likely to get into scraps and shit... back in my day it was groups like the British National Party and the **** Skins we used to get in fights with, but looking back the violence - and vandalism sometimes - just gave the media ammunition to cast the whole movement as a bunch of thugs and the police an excuse to crack down.

I couldn't understand back then when the older heads would say we gotta keep it peaceful, even when those **** kunts were trying to provoke shit, but I get it now of course. Every hothead or idiot makes it 10x more difficult to get public support for the good and positive work being done.

Ha angry young dudes and their egos gonna do what they do though I guess, probably always gonna be that way.

These guys were part of the inspiration for later anti-******* groups in the UK like the 62 Group, and the ANL which then crossed to the US in the form of ARA. Had the idea that you gotta take the fight to the *******s, you can't just leave 'em to fester and grow stronger...



43 Group had some of the same problems as contemporary anti-******* activists though, other ***ish lobbies worried about the political consequences of direct action and tended to distance themselves.
