Problem with the US is that if you don't have money / decent health insurance your outlook is actually significantly worse than in many poorer countries with universal healthcare.
So yeah, whilst your statement is partly true in only tells part of the story. Yes it is possible to get some of the best healthcare on earth in the US but on average across the whole population your healthcare provision likely ain't even top 20.
Edit: just went and looked up about 6 different rankings and the highest the US came in was #15. Top slots were typically filled by either the wealthy nations of East Asia - Japan, S.Korea, Singapore or the Scandinavian nations depending on the ranking methodology.
There was one where the US came in at #11 but that was out of 11 wealthy countries. The US came dead last by a wide margin.

Like everything else, education is freedom. People who are ignorant and impoverished just don't know any better.

I think a lot of Americans defer or forgo medical and mental health treatment entirely because of cost. You go to a physician for a routine 15 minute checkup and it is $100 minimum. You have to see a specialist for xrays and an examination and you're looking at $1,000. If something is wrong and needs further examination or treatment then forget about it as the cost will be astronomical. Healthcare needs to be affordable before American's can have a real discussion on overcoming people's negative perception of mental health treatment.Citizen Koba likes this.
