As far as flicks that would be considered classics from then worldwide, I ain't sure. Can't speak for anybody else, but there were plenty of movies from the 80s I loved and can still enjoy to this day. Just a few here

    Terminator
    Scarface
    Aliens
    Rocky 3 & 4
    Predator

You might have a point with 4 of them.. But Rocky 3.. With Rocky and Apollo wearing the some weird male bra during training? And Rocky 4 being all propaganda making the Soviet look like all stereotypical bad guys.. I enjoyed watching them, yeah.. But if those 2 movies come in as a top 5 five of that decade.. damn.

How on earth can ''An american werewolf'' be in the top 10? Serious. That's like saying ''underworld'' is the best from 2000 and forward..

Karate Kid?? Wash on, wash off....................

Other than that, you might have a point.. Still a poor 10 years..

            Damn good list.

Also throw in Blade Runner and They Live and it was a decent decade. Not as good as the 70s or 90s, but better than the 60s IMO.

AWIL is an excellent film. Unlike modern movies, it creates a genuine sense of tension and horror, rather than relying upon loud noises and cheap scares.

Him being followed by his dead friend, who is rotting more and more each day...creepy.

Another 80s film that matches that description is Pet Semetary, one of my favourite horror movies.

What did you dislike about American Werewolf? I've not seen Underworld, but the two films seem quite different.

The Thing is another great 80s movie. John Carpenter had a great decade, shame he's not so good these days.

Seen that one.. What I've noticed about most of these so called ''classic'' 1980's movies.. Is that they all seem like the budget was no more than 60.000 $ most of them look so cheap.. Most movies from that era look like a lowbudget movie..
