What do you think about this. My dad was talking to someone today and he has to have both hips replaced. The guy used to run between 60-70 miles a week and they say that could have been a contributing factor. Hes probably not even 50.. apparently. poor bloke

70 miles a week would be 10 miles a day. I don't know how much guys should run, but that's just about half a marathon a day, I tihnk that's too much.
I bike a lot, it's better on your knees and hips.

I run between 3 and 4 miles a day and it all depends on how my body feels. If I have sore joints I'll run 3 miles and if I feel good I'll run 4. Simple, listen to your body and you'll be ok.

Sounds like a case of who knows what the **** the idiot was doing his whole life. In any case, distances should be done mostly on grass and dirt, unless one is planning to road race, in which case one must run on the street at least once per week so the legs don't go into shock, since most races are in the street. A young guy can get away with training on the street and sidewalks, but it will catch up with you young bucks years down the road as you are training the devil into you body.....This site has great icons....
