Comments Thread For: TV Picks of The Week: Jaron ?Boots? Ennis-Eimantas Stanionis to unify at welterweight

While Terence Crawford and Errol Spence were circling each other for a fight to decide the best welterweight in the world, Jaron ?Boots? Ennis waited in the wings, pushed as one of the rising prospects and then as a top contender at 147lbs.

A focused Ennis should be able to take care of business and get a clear unanimous decision against Stanionis. Ennis has defensive vulnerabilities, but I think style wise this is a matchup that's convenient for Ennis, mixing boxing with some pressure when the opportunity is there.

That is unless Stanionis is able to up his output and make him uncomfortable, but with the long time off and the way he looked versus Maestre and Butaev, I doubt it.

That is unless Ennis' concentration is off, which seeing what happened when he fights in Philly is a possibility. If Ennis loses his focus the bout Will be there for the taking for Stanionis.

I wouldn't bet on the upset, but I'm pretty sure Stanionis will do better than Ennis's fans think.

I had more faith in Ellis before he fell in with Eddy. He hasn't lost anything physically, but his integrity is taking a beating. He is still the favorite, but he is not as popular as before. Everything is still there except the gloss.

I agree up until the lose focus part. Ennis can read a book if Stanionis doesn't bring fire.

Good matchup. The Lithuanian fighter is strong and solid.. he had an impressive win over Butaev but I don't see Boots losing.

Lets go Boots!! Get that second strap and then come home to PBC. Have another unification with Barrios and then undisputed against Brian Jr. PBC and Top rank with be (hopefully fingers crossed) on Amazon this summer so there will be no sides of the street. All, and I do mean all your fights from 147-168 for the next decade will be on Amazon. Please do not resign with that app that nobody has in the US!

Such a pity that there is no buzz for this fight. One of the better match ups in boxing today but nobody is talking about it. I know both guys don't have any momentum going in this fight but on paper it is a good fight.

Could you expand on that? I honestly expect Ennis to be fully on for this bout, if that's the topic you are raising.
