This would crown the first lineal world champion at strawweight since Ricardo Lopez abdicated his throne in October 1999.
And yet Taduran is probably better than Jerusalem anyway since he beat the better Shigeoka brother in better fashion and is more proven at the world-level.

Unlike Yudai where I expected him to lose the rematch (and indeed lost), I actually have a feeling that Ginjiro will avenge his loss against Taduran next month.
Yudai's first loss to Jerusalem felt like it was a loss due to difference in skills and tactics, but Taduran was more of a freak accidental win if that makes sense.

How is Taduran more proven at the world level?

exactly. collazo - jerusalem is the most important fight in boxing. no other division is without a lineal champion for so long since naoya filled a vacancy at bantamweight.
obviously, i don't care about stars, promoters, broadcasters, ppv buys and purses.
Now that Yudai announced that he plans tomove up to 108, I'm hoping that Collazo vs Jerusalem gets made for summer while Ginjiro gets revenge against Taduran next month and they end up fighting for undisputed at the end of the year Riyadh season.

Because Taduran ought to have gotten the nod over both Cuarto and Valladares. Jerusalem was pretty lucky to get the decision over Yudai in either match imo, both those fights were very close, more so the rematch admittedly.

I love watching Ginjiro fight but I'm very wary of how his rematch will go against Taduran considering how badly he was beaten the first time around. I hope it was a case of overlooking an opponent or having an off night because I'd hate to see Ginjiro squander his talent with two back-to-back, punishing losses against a heavy-hitter so early in his career. I think Yudai and Jerusalem are on a pretty similar level quite honestly considering how close their fights were but Jerusalem's style is just harder for Yudai to deal with and appeals to the judges a bit more.
