Amazing that fighting once a year has become totally normal in this sport. It doesn't even incur any demerit points. If 2 fights a year is average, then Crawford has avoided four fights in the last four years. Makes my head shake uncontrollably.

Most of his biggest critics are blacks. The Spence fans, the PBC fans who still insist that he should fight Ennis to prove himself.

There is this weird thing where if a well known black fighter signs with a white promoter, to some groups that fighter then loses his "black cred", I guess for not signing with Haymon? There really is no other conclusion one can draw.

Crawford and AJ are the 2 biggest examples I can think of at the moment. Thier cardinal sin was being promoted by Arum and Hearn. If either guy signed with PBC, they would instantly go to #1 on every list.......

Barring major injury (or a totally uncontrollable thing like COVID in 2020), I can't fathom how boxers who are in their 30s (or even 20s in some people's cases) can't seem to manage to fight twice a year on an annual basis, and their fans are willing to accept it as a norm. A 6 month cycle where first two monthes post fight you heal up your body and relax, two month to start losing the weight you gained and exercise back into a routine, and two month to do full training camp leading up to the match should be doable.

If anything it's quite the opposite. While he was fighting under Top Rank, the PBC fangirls hated on him. They'd call other non-fans of PBC racist, even if they were fans of Crawford, as if Crawford wasn't black enough for them. It's the PBC fans who won't give Crawford credit for beating Spence. It's a very tribal sport where so-called fans are bigger fans of promoters, managers and networks than they are of the fighters. It's the Mayweather effect. His fans are extremely toxic to the sport.
