Its not good enough at all and the reason I can't take him seriously as P4P #1 and a supposed ATG
The real ATG's, the ones of old would have had 20 fights in the time Terence has 4.dan-b likes this.

Revisionist history in boxing is batsh^t crazy to me lmfao.

Because with Spence it was always about durability and eating punches from guys like Danny Swift and Porter and just coming forward. Yet regular jabs from Crawford are rocking the boat like wha-huh? A guy who couldn't shatter a damaged Amir Khan's chin and couldn't stop Ricky Burns is now treating Errol Spence like a crash test dummy. It made no sense. Which is proof Spence wasn't 100% there physically, for whyever that was.
Spence now says it was his eyes. And he brought receipts. He was wearing glasses all the way up until the day of the fight, which he hadn't done before.
If it was his eyes - and I'm not sure I believe that - it means a rematch at 147 would help answer that question. But we still don't have a confirmation. Meanwhile, Crawford COULD have answered "come get yo belt back" if only to stay busy, because Crawford himself said Boots would be easy work; it sells itself. Okay, then treat it like a stay-busy, make some money...because he'd be the A-Side, he can ask for whatever payday he wants. It's up to the network to deliver either way. That fight could have been on the PBC PPV, frankly.
That's what he did when he agreed to fight Avanesyan. Why was that okay to move forward but not Boots?
Because Boots is a threat to retiring undefeated. It's the only logical answer. And I don't blame Crawford for that decision - I just want NSB to stop being hypocrites about it, because this is exactly the same situation with Canelo/Golovkin where for years NSB called Canelo a ducker for not fighting Golovkin.

On paper Bud v Spence was supposed to be closer than it was because Spence was either no1 or no2 welterweight. But Spence still isnt a pfp fighter thats the main issue. Like its supposed to be some amazing win as Bud won easier than expected? Inoue beat Fulton easier than people expected but Inoue didnt take 5 years to do it.
So Buds win over Spence isnt better than Inoues win over Fulton and Tapales, not at all.Last edited by hugh grant; 01-27-2024, 10:53 AM.Combat Talk Radio likes this.
