He should fight Ennis and attempt to become three-time undisputed, now that Ennis is IBF champ, hah. In all honesty he should just fight Ennis anyway. For those asking what's to gain, there's plenty actually. It's not Canelo money but he'll be paid handsomely regardless. Everyone knows Ennis is the next man to beat now at 147, so defending his belts against the highly rated number one contender immediately after besting Spence would be great for his legacy. It would arguably be the second best win of his career in fact, and would create a lot of buzz.

Seeing Roy Jones say Crawford should avoid this fight because it's too dangerous at this point in his career is just plain weird to me. He's a big boy, he doesn't need to be wrapped in cotton wool and protected from a fight he could lose. We just saw Crawford put on a masterclass, the best performance of his career by far. He's undeniably the best welterweight in the world. Don't we want to see the best fight the best? What are we doing here, if not?

Spence at 154, Ennis, Tsyzu in the second half of 2024, or Jermell. All of those are perfectly fine options (forget the Canelo fight, it's nonsense). Crawford only fights once a year, so hopefully it's one of these guys next. I'm starting to get a bad feeling it's instead gonna be some weak tune-up at 154 in preparation for a 'big fight' next year and I sincerely hope I'm wrong.

It's a very American opinion to hold. This idea that prime fighters should avoid the best challenges strategically. Just retire if you don't want the risk, otherwise you have to keep proving it. Bernard Hopkins took the Jermaine Taylor fight before moving to 175 when he didn't really need to. I see the same situation here for Crawford.

I don't want to start sounding like Leicesterage but this Spence rematch clause can't be an indefinite one. So putting that aside, it's sit on the shelf or take a Boots fight, even if it isn't Canelo money.
