Comments Thread For: Ryan Garcia Says He's More Committed, Dedicated To Boxing Training With Derrick James

By Manouk Akopyan - Ryan Garcia admitted that he'd been training and fighting at 50% for so long after suffering a knockout loss to Gervonta Davis, and he's since made significant changes to clean up his act. After five fights with Eddy Reynoso from 2018 to 2021 and three with Hall of Fame coach Joe Goossen, the 25-year-old has since linked up with reigning trainer of the year Derrick James.

Now he been training at 50%. Just certified the lack of discipline everybody knows he has. Somebody needs to tell these younger generation dudes to stop snitching on themselves. Not everything is meant to be public. Wanna get mad that everybody is criticizing you, but then basically put out all these excuses that justify all the criticism. Lack of self-awareness and no accountability. Don't understand how folks nowadays ain't got no shame in embarrassing themselves by playing the victim like this.

The life of a boxer is very hard. While everyone is allowed to get better, from what I’ve seen Garcia doesn’t have the work ethic or grit for this lifestyle.

And Gooseneck hasn’t been seen since.

Great post. Cryan is obviously intellectually challenged.

Unlike Spence though you won't have to worry about Garcia winning legit belts in 140 though so that is good.

By the way, for a guy who claims to be more focused in boxing now, I feel like I've read a loooooot of articles about his feelings the past week or so.
