How avoided was Micheal Moorer at 175?

How avoided was Micheal Moorer at 175? He was a perfect 21-0(21), had wins over ring rated Frankie Swindell and Leslie Stewart, but couldn't get fights with Virgil Hill, Prince Charles Willams, Jeff Harding or Dennis Andries.

Would he have remained unbeaten had he fought these guys? How would these fights look? And would he be considered an all time great lightheavyweight had he cleared them out with his knock out streak intact before moving up to heavyweight?

Even as far back as 89' his walking around weight was way past 200, even when skinny, and he had to move up. I felt then, in 1990, that if Moorer could have kept making 175 or even 190 for a while more, he would have made short work of Virgil Hill, Carlos DeLeon, Glenn McCrory, Dennis Andries, Jeff Harding, Taoufik Belbouli, Graciano Rocchigiani, Prince Charles Williams, Boddy Czyz, Robert Daniels, Christophe Tiozzo, Tommy Hearns, Frank Tate...anyone in the neighborhood. Easily.

And I don't believe that Holyfield needed a hole in his heart, later fixed by a faith healer, to get beat by Moorer.

I don't disagree. But easily? Thats pretty high praise. I remember him being on USA and ESPN and they would always talk about him being avoided. Do you recall if he ever made offers to these other fighters?

How strong would you say the division was when Moorer was fighting at light-heavy? I don't recall being very impressed with it back then, outside of Virgil Hill.

Moorer was something at 175 lbs and with Kronk. I don’t think too my fighters were rushing to face him.

I wish his training career had taken off more, he was an assistant at Wild Card under Freddie Roach but had poor people skills.

I wonder if he got his people skills from Teddy Atlas?
