The Greatest Fights That Should've Fought But It Never Got Made

Can we all discuss what Willie Pep just said in the other thread about Fury vs AJ the fight that never got made and now seems impossible to get made.
What were the greatest match ups that we wanted to see fight each other and yet politics and money prevented the fight from ever happening.
Can you think of other match ups that never got made despite fans desperate to see that fight? And who's fault do you think it was that they never fought. Was it the promoter or one fighter being too scared or was it the mandatory that got in the way of what we wanted to see.
Can you guys think of match ups that fans were eager to see but never got made leaving us gutted? If you can think of fights give a reason who you think is to blame for it never happening as it is usually someones fault.

Just to get it going I will say Foreman vs Tyson in around 1989. I was so eager for that fight but I think I saw Foreman saying he wanted no part of Tyson. So I say that Foremen dodged a prime Tyson and no one can blame him.

It wouldn't have been a great fight anyway.

Foreman didn't reach his 2nd career peak until around '92-'93, post Holyfield & Tommy Morrison.

        Lewis-Bowe comes to mind.

I wouldn't have minded see Tua against Holyfield but don't know if that was ever on the table.

My recollection is that Foreman wanted Tyson and that he also called him out in Ring M a g a z ine.

I personally didnt want the fight as I was worried that Foreman would be seriously injured.

Wills vs Dempsey is the main one.

me too, the pundits thought foreman could get seriously injured against young mike, much like pundits are now concerned about mike's health ahead of paul fight.

Yeah I wanted to see bowe vs lewis like you did. I think bowe ducked lewis, no strong evidence just the way bowe sounded when lewis told him in the ring after a bowe fight "i gonna knock you out" and bowe looked like he didn't want it. this is about the fight that never got made.
lewis had beaten bowe in olympics but pro boxing is different in many ways. I wonder who queeny will side with backed up with his dubious evidence!!

Mike Tyson vs Evander Holyfield in 1991. Tyson got injured before that one, then Desiree Washington materialized a few months later...

believe it or not a fight us young'ns wanted in the mid eighties was tyson vs witherspoon. many thought tyson was too young and tim would beat him. that was a fight fans wanted to identify who was the best of that crop of heavyweights.
