opium can be grown anywhere. the minute one area is wiped, another has a cash crop. There is no way they could be eradicated. And its a moot point because the united States could not dictate what can be grown in other countries.

Poppies could even be grown in green houses. They are virtually like a weed.

It can be a cash crop or... literally a nuisance. Yes it does take a lot of labor. The things that determine outcomes are policies in the area...the Taliban will often encourage cultivating it, then burn all the fields down if it suits them...and distribution. The actual sluce is not a major bulk but it has to go to someone who can make it into more refined drugs. Of course just as sluce it is opium, put that sluce in an alcohol base for a tincture and one has Ladium.

"They will be designated ... I have been working on that for the last 90 days. You know, designation is not that easy, you have to go through a process, and we are well into that process," Trump said in an interview aired on Tuesday with conservative media personality Bill O'Reilly.

Soon afterwards, Mexico's foreign ministry issued a statement saying it would quickly seek a high-level meeting with U.S. State Department officials to address the legal designation as well as the flow of arms and money to organized crime.

All we need is Trump to visit Mexico City and get attacked by Cartels while he is there. Then it's full on war against Cartels.

The real problem is that there are rules to legally fighting.
