I really struggle to understand why some people are defending the stoppage . You just don't stop a world championship fight with 7 seconds to go after a fighter gets hit once or twice, even if his back is half turned and he looks unsteady. You either let him go down or get hit more than once or twice. Come on, you know that if the one in that position was Ford and he was arguably winning the referee would have never stopped the fight.

I agree Kholmatov was done dirty. He never turned his back. When moving away to try and see out the round, Ford hit him with a jab that spun him. It wasn't by choice.

The ref should have given a count to which Kholmatov would have won as there were only a few seconds left. I had it 9/2 to Kholmatov after 11.

It was a very one sided fight and easy to score, with awful biased commentary, and premature stoppage. Very corrupt night for boxing.

I don't know. I didn't see it that way (9-2) and Kholmatov certainly wasn't winning it easily. I was pulling for Ford, I thought it was close. The refs had it a competitive fight.

I've been on other boxing sites. Honestly, I'm not impressed. Aside from the crazies I think NSB has the best boxing community online.

Yes exactly what I thought the referee could have let the fighter go the distance and hear the scorecards but he had a defenseless fighter with less than 10 seconds to go and one more big bomb and the Uzbek could have been in the ICU or the morgue.

There wasn't enough time left for any kind of shot to land. There was 3 seconds left after the last shot from Ford landed. Had the ref done his job and gave a count, Kholmatov would have won as the bell would have went.

He was clearly winning that fight but the ref had other ideas.
