Who said anything about the professor doing wrong? He’s talking about the misleading post with added words that’s not even in the article. No one is reporting anything about free grades besides op.

“Free grades” is a little difficult to interpret. Certainly these dumb aszes were suggesting a more favorable grading system for blacks than for anyone else.
How inaccurate is it to call that free grades? Isn’t this a request/demand for unearned grades?

They requested a 'no-harm' final exam that could only benefit students' grades.

Meaning students would still have to take the exam and get the correct answers. You must don’t have any reading comprehension skills? You still haven’t answered why you lied and said, “They requested that the final become an automatic pass”.

It quite clearly says that they would lose no points for skipping the test & if they bothered to take it, it would count as extra credit since they're auto-passing it anyway. That was the refused proposal.
