I wonder why there are so many threads about GOD, ALLAH, etc. Most of the threads are from guys like Butler who can't quote scripture, but he know there is no GOD.

He spews big **** theory but can't even follow the math or physics. It is getting kinda old.

I am saying this, why does it bother you non believers if others believe?

There are a couple of reasons.

Firstly, there is no such thing as a benign religious belief. History has shown us that religion is divisive and causes endless conflict. Not only that, but as soon as a religion gets to a certain size, it begins to impose itself on others and to take away their freedoms.

Plus it has been proven that people who are bought up with religion are less able to tell fact from fiction as adults. When we rely on each other so much, being a social species, then having people disabling critical reasoning skills in their children is a bad thing. Knowing that people believe in fairy tales - and those people also vote - is a bad thing.

Choosing to believe in lies is always based on selfish motives.

The abramahic texts are filled with evil and sickness. Slavery, ****, murder, infanticide, genocide. These cannot be removed from those beliefs, and as such it is not possible to subscribe to abrahamic religions without implicitly condoning these things.

He reckons all human interactions are self motivated, and not necessarily confined to religious people.

Nobody and no human interaction is altruistic.

To me though religion is a force for good.Hence its just means as a martial artist once put it "connecting to source".Hence God is the divine source energy from which everything originated and its how we use that energy that defines us for healthier or unhealthier.

Granted there are many religions in the world today which dilutes the source but all I feel are ultimately pursuing this source but just differ in how to get there.

I dont think anyone is trying to convert anyone. Its just a discussion which people get really defensive over.
I see people feeling like they are being attacked.
Yet the other thread is actually about "dumbass atheists".

The majority of the world believes in God in one form or another, so now with the safety of the internet people love to argue against that belief. Especially if theyve been taught that they will go to hell for not believing.

Atheists are some of the most pretentious fart sniffing people on the planet, no wonder most of them are lefty's. They recycle the same arguments to combat religion (mainly Christianity) that they used back in 2009. They think the old do you believe in a flying spaghetti monster or why don't you believe in Zeus! is speaking truth to power, and then they proceed to pat themselves on the back thinking they just completely undid the bible and a whole religion.
