Amazon is the front-runner to get a $10 billion+ cloud contract (JEDI) from the Department of Defense and in recent years, Bezos has purchased The Washington Post, and bought a 27,000 sq. ft. mansion in the Kalorama neighborhood of D.C. And he's been giving generously politically.

Bezos has his eyes set on Washington in more ways than one.
This is actually concerning. Can’t believe he owns the Washington Post. Monopoly is bad for the economy

Really. How is it bad for me? I can purchase something for 400k and watch it go up to 1.2 Million the way Seattle Suburbs is.

How is it bad for property management? When you can charge 3000 a month now for the luxury high rise units that young Amazon programmers will be living in?

It affects the average person I guess, but are we living to be average or are we living to be in the top 1%?

I stopped using Amazon because of Bezos' political motivations. Not putting my money into his cause.
If anyone else feels the same and wants a good alternative, I've found Jet.com actually beats Amazon's prices on most things I buy. They're super easy to buy from and don't have the problem with bullshyt 3rd party vendors (the ones that sell fakes, refurb, etc) that Amazon does.

Have you seen what he's done with it? It was turned into a political tool in the 2016 election. Shamelessly so.
Crazy that people jump on Fox news (which I'm not a fan of either) but blatant political shills like the WP are treated like actual news.

Pretty soon, Amazon will own all of the information.

I actually doubt it. He would probably rather remain in the private sector and just be our overlord there. Doesn't mean he can't control Washington from the outside though.
