Katy Perry 'regrets public spectacle' after blue origins all female 'space mission' receives 'disheartening' backlash

'Astronaut' Katy Perry and her fellow crew members have been widely mocked for their behaviour during the blue origin launch which was billed as a historic moment for women in space.

    Astronaut my arse.

All she did was sit in a giant dil*o for 10 minutes.

    Great knockers though.

      'Astronaut'

      Made me laugh.

There is something weird about celebrity adventurism. Like it really others them.

They were passengers on a craft that went into space and back around 11 minutes. Barely an accomplishment but a newsworthy piece because of the passengers. Really nothing to see here

But why did they do any of this and why does it matter? was this supposed to be some girl power type of deal that just failed miserably.

That's the other side of it too.

It is weird when rich people do stuff like this but doubly weird the reaction until you think about it. How humans actually are.

Like when that submarine imploded. A lot of people quite liked it that they were rich folks that got smelted even though one of them was a young man. That was a tragedy. Avoidable, obviously, but awful.

I think the majority of people are distrustful of genuinely rich people like it is innate kind of hate. People don't think they have it but it's there.

I'm not even sure it works along political divides either. Most everyone believe strongly in capitalism and consumerism but don't believe in being super-rich because it feels wrong. They will have abused people to get that rich.

The idea will always be 'success is a ladder but it is usually made of people.'

You should be able to attain great wealth but should you be able to sit on it like a greedy c.unt? Create crazy dynasties that last for centuries at the detriment of others. You should definitely figure out how best to give it away, really. If only for your soul.

              Stuff like this doesn't help.

Oh that rich celebrity fired herself into space.

Not saying that Perry is a bad person she sang some catchy pop songs that made people happy and is probably a good person and maybe her profile was a help to this project. But honestly, just don't go to space if you're her.

You don't need to go to space, Katy.

'Gayle King has fired back at critics of her recent Blue Origin space flight after critics - including some very famous faces - slammed the feat as "gluttunous" and "self-indulgent".

The CBS Mornings host expressed frustration over what she perceives as sexist characterisations of the historic all-female mission that took place Monday.

"They call it a ride, which I find very irritating because they never say men went for a ride," King told CBS Mornings on Tuesday as she alluded to the criticism being steeped in sexism.'

Astronauts do not go whee.! nowadays on descents, do they? Maybe they will from now on.

The training these gals put in was simply awesome. At least training for the potty was not necessary.

As law abiding American citizens, we all should be allowed to allow and attain our dream(s).
Who are we to say what a person should or shouldn't do if they are not harming anyone or breaking the law ?!?!?
Rich people I'm sure have been there and done that with the exception of going to outer space.

Some people are OK with the fact that they will never achieve wealth/fame.
Just be law abiding cogs in the machine.
                    Society needs us cogs.

For those who worked hard (or via inheritance, no crime in that) and attained wealth, what else are they to do with said wealth ?!?

The need to knock celebs down a peg or 2 doesn't always have merit
This being one of those cases.
