While stocking up on ammo don't forget that a semi-auto rifle or handgun is only a ONE SHOT firearm without a magazine!!! In my opinion, every AK or AR rifle that you own should have 10-15 mags with at least a 30 round capacity. I would say the same rule of thumb (except with 15 rounds) applies to your semi-auto handguns.
While I'm pretty much set with mags for my AK's, I still keep my eye out for bargains. I just picked up five ZASTAVA MILITARY GRADE 40 ROUND AK mags for $21.50 each at DK Firearms in ******ia. I was going to buy them directly from Zastava Arms for $25 each when I inadvertently came across a DK ad that had them on sale.
I only have 30 round steel mags and wanted to get some high cap magazines. These 40 rounders are made by Zastava Arms Plant and are issued to the Serbian Army. I loaded one up today and will be taking it to the range with me next week to see how it feeds. I only have steel Yugo/Serbian mags, but these polymer ones seem really solid. We'll see.
