I was out for my Saturday road work (8 miles, 6 minute/mile pace) but came upon two guys arguing. One guy was trying to mug the other.
They were shouting real aggressively, so I stopped just in time to see one pull out a knife. I was a good 20 meters away but was able to close the distance and punch the guy in the hand, knocking the knife to the ground. He tried to swing it at me, but I punched his hand too quickly. I think his hand was broken.
Anyway, two of his buddies jump out of the car and run toward me. I told them I didn't want any violence but would defend myself if I had to. That was enough for one of them, and he ran off. Meanwhile, the guy who almost got mugged was on the phone with the cops. They showed up and arrested both of the guys and impounded their car.
