Looks like he's a former U.S. paratrooper who has been living in Moscow for over 10 years.
This guy is white so you know the right-wing nutjobs will be all over the ***** administration to do more to save this veteran than they did Griner. In fact, I'm sure Russia detained him for that exact reason: to present a white guy in the same spot as Griner so Americans would fight over it. They aren't trying to get some hostage back here, they're just trying to sew conflict in America.
