Despite making up close to 5% of the global population, the U.S. has more than 20% of the world's prison population. It is over 2,000,000 people.
Of these people 696,000 are violent criminals who committed murder, ****, serious drug trafficking and human trafficking. A large city worth of people. I say let's make them one.

Rat Island, which is aptly named is located in Kiska, Alaska. Its warm enough there. Build facilities to house and guard the prisoners there. The chance for escape on the island is near zero. A boat or plane is needed.

Currently no one lives on the island and no one will really wants to go to prison there. It will decrease crime I say based on the thought of going there. It is federal land.

For life sentences where there is no possibility for parole, this would be a good alternative to what we have now. No need to house them among less violent criminals or those who are serving short sentences. They also need to change prison conditions to make it a real deterrent. Work them hard all day, feed them just enough rice and vegetables to survive, no visitors, no televisions, no music, no commissary.

Determine which ones really want to reform and offer them some type of schooling or training to prepare them to go back into society and get a job. If they aren't interested in turning themselves around, isolate them and let them serve hard time. No time in the yard, no phone calls, nothing.

This is all fantasy, because it will never happen.

In all honesty it'd be best just to start executing. The Prison population is filled with violent Men and Women that are better off dead than alive. I know this is harsh but it's true.

The Feds should take a bigger role in violent crimes. There should be a Federal Mass Shooter Law that federally charges any shooting/murder of 3+ people in the USA. It should be automatically a death sentence case.

Also, the Feds should do more for violence against children. The Feds do a pretty good job catching internet Chester's but leave it to the States to punish for actual physical/***ual violence. In many states you can get less time hurting a kid than selling drugs or robbing someone. People don't realize it's a cycle, Adults hurt kids physically or ***ually than that kid becomes that adult or mass shooter 1 day.

My major concern is The amount of people released for being improperly convicted. There are clearly inherent, systemic issues with the system that need to be fixed before we commit to these super max prisons with harsh conditions.

I like bail reform. I am tired of mostly rich, white people being given bail by mostly white judges and prosecutors while non white and poor defendants have to sit in jail. That isn’t right imo.

They shouldve fixed this by keeping everyone detained before trial. But there isnt an appetite for keeping certain people behind bars.

Instead they are scoring defendants based on factors and letting them go. That needs to be fixed ASAP.

But you know they arent going to keep rich white defendants incarcerated pre trial so this is how it’s going to be.

Bragg should go after Trump and other white collar criminals the same way they go after other criminals.

Fighting crime shouldn’t be based on race and wealth. Go after criminals of all races and incomes and Im happy.

The unfairness of the legal system from start to end is the problem with administering real justice. Men will never do this. The following is a prayer we should all be saying

because those mostly rich white people are not committing violent acts of crime nor do they have lengthy prior criminal convictions that augment their jail sentence.

there is a reason why they are given bail for non violent offenses while people like alvin bragg have downgraded nearly half of all NYC's felonies into lesser charges like misdemeanors.

bragg isnt going after criminals. he's going after the ********s political enemy which is trump.
