How do I box better and improve my defense in FNR4?

I have to admit, I'm not a very good FNR4 player. My defense is **** and I'm asking for help. How do I help improve my d and not have my stamina drop to the second half of the fight. I only do 2 minute rounds and throw around 70-100 punches per round. I'm trying to keep that down, but my defense is **** and I'm really aiming for lower then 50%, but I have rarely had that happen.

What are tips to improve D and conserving stamina?

    If you're playing online...

Win round with accuracy percentage. Only throw shots that will most likley land. No need for Haymakers. If the opponent starts to block most of your shots, change the punches you are throwing, in different order.

For defense, I find that you just need to learn the opponents rythim. Most players stick to the same combinations. I find that by round 5 I can block 70% of their punches.

Also if you have a long reach, lean back and block your body. Sometimes they cant reach your face and tired themselves out.

I never ever throw Haymakers, I don't think I've thrown one the entire game and in career I went 50 (45)-0-1 (draw)

what kind of fighter are you? Tall, short?

I take it that because you throw over 100 punches a round you arent a counter puncher?

If you are throwing 100 punches a round I am guessing you are spamming, hence why you get tired late.

2 minute rounds = you throwing 70-100 punches per round. Doesn't Paul Williams throw 100punches per round when its 3 minutes? No wonder your gassing man! your throwing to many punches! sounds like your going for the KO to early, and instead getting countered easily. Pick your punches, add variety.

your defense is **** probably because you're throwing to many punches thus leaving yourself open a lot. Try getting it down to about 40-50 punches per round.

Try picking your shots more. Be patient. Have some distance from your opponent. Pot shot. Don't just go for the kill all the time thats how you get left open and countered. Let your opponent come to you.

To improve defense, practice the bob & weave for one. That's essential in this game. If your opponent is jabbing at you, if you're good at the bob & weave you can time it right and land a hard counter.

When blocking, remember to move your head too. Think Pernell Whitaker or someone like that.
