  • That moment Crawford brought up Ricky Burns and Canelo legitimately didn't know who that was.

There is literally no point in this fight.

  • Based on the refs behaviour of repeated illegally breaking up Maidana from doing damage you can infer that Maidana won the first fight. Given the fact that Maidana is a Kotelnik leftover you can put the bar a lot lower in terms of avoided fighters and interchange Maidana with for example Mayorga, those...

Bena at 168 will be drained I think he is grown into 175....

  • It alwalys seemed manufactured that an unattractive defensive fighter with questionable wins was transformed out of thin air into a some money type persona and got forcefully broadcasted through all networks in a time TV was much bigger and influencial than it is today....

Because of the substance ban Bena was sidelined and had to work his way up again. Then came back in very short window where he floated between 168-175 which he has now outgrown, Canelo called him into the ring....

Bena has done nothing at 168 and can't make the weight reliably while Canelo won't move up to 175 as long is Bivol is there. I have serious doubts Bena is better than Munguia they don't differ much I rate Munguia higher than Bena at 168 at this point....

I regard Munguia is better than Bena so in that case Canelo has not been ducking Bena. Canelo has no business at 175 and Bena will be a shell at 168 so in reality the fight is spoilt milk.

  • The Al Haymon model was at its peak during the 0bama era so there might be a connection there. Also the attendance numbers were always way off and propped up with fake numbers and fake seats, something that was picked up on by Chael Sonnen....

  • It is not about some 'old school cool' opinion in 100 or 200 years ago, it is about the simple fact hat the refs steps in when one side is in danger of taking to much punishment, so that rounds are forced to go into 10-9 territory. It highlights the essence of the fight....

  • Maidana was not hit often though, a lot of 'hits' where on the guard plus most of the punches where just taps that weren't affecting Maidana's point of gravity, as opposed to the other way around. If you go by the logic that "there are no 10-9 rounds" then the nudge in those fights...

  • Clearly Maidana being the agressor, ring general, landing the clearer shots and the ref gets in the way of further punishment giving help to the opponent....

  • Maidana won the first fight pretty clearly by effective aggression and landing the cleaner and harder shots, being the ring general. The ref kept on breaking up the fighters as Maidana was landing shots, pretty bizarre behaviour from the ref.
