I'm 16 and I'm just starting on this sport when someone suggested I'd try kick boxing instead. I think he's right, I' m more flexible than the average guy, I have very strong legs (I also cycle a lot) and my strong point isn't strength...it's speed...I think....anyway What do you think? And what is required to be a kick boxer more than a boxer? Thanks in Advance

Boxing or Kickboxing?

Do both, atleast for a bit until you decide which one you like more, which one you're better at etc. If you can afford it of course.
If you're going to do kickboxing, might as well train atleast part time in boxing too. Even though the footwork, stance and stuff is slightly different it will improve your hands alot. That's why the Dutch do so well in Muay Thai, K-1 and Shootboxing (Peter Aerts, Ernesto Hoost, Remy Bonjasky, Andy Souwer, Badr Hari etc). They train alot of regular western boxing, not just kickboxing or muay thai.
Amateur boxing will also give you in ring experience that won't count on your kickboxing record. Win or lose, you will get more fights, and be used to the crowd, pressure etc.

My old coach used to say "it's easier to teach a boxer to kick than it is to teach a kicker to punch".
Most kickboxing, k1, muay thai people cross train in boxing.
Definitely try out boxing first and if you want to add the feet later, track down a good instructor for that. In the meantime, boxing's usually cheaper.

OK kinda what I expected I think I'd stick mostly with kick boxing but when I have the opportunity I won't refuse a box match.
Thanks For Replying!!
Also could anyone tell me if I should use gloves or only hand wraps? Cause a while back I got unexpectedly in the middle of a street fight (nothing big) anyway at a point I caught one of them with a right uppercut on the face (my first punch-face punch) and I almost fractured my hand.....But on the other hand I have never used gloves before and I think that using no gloves while training will be of advantage...

I know how to "kick" and i know how to "box;" so technically i know how to kickbox. There are various forms of kick boxing. Muay Thai, American Kick Boxing, K-1, Full contact karate...etc. etc.
IMOPO: i would try boxing first. Just to get the fundamental basics of the fistic arts, then switch it up depending on how i felt.
