if u wanna box, BOX! dont matter ur age...
but u cant think u can just snap ur fingers n be a pro boxer getting fights whenever u want.. theres a lot to do b4 u can even contend for that... first u gotta join a gym with a liscensed trainer... one preferably who has pros not just amatuers... since thats what ur looking for... go there and like any other gym u gotta prove ur tough enough to fight, in training and sparring ... if u do well enough in that stuff. u should be able to go pro if u still want to
but any trainer or boxer will tell u its smarter to go amatuer first.. its true fights, but with extra protection and less fight time.. safer for beginners to truly try out the sport full out.. decide if its for them or not..
good luck

Well here's the scoop, it's not too late to turn pro though it would help a lot if you already have some talent or knack for the sport. You HAVE to join a gym and get started learning. After six months or so they might let you fight in your first amateur bout. If you impress and do well you can go from there. You should try to get as many amateur fights as you can in within the next 2? years and if you compile a good record it wouldn't seem too out of reach for you to turn professional.
