"As with Terence Crawford and Floyd Mayweather before him, Ennis ought to be considered the finest welterweight of his era. But they had the rivals they needed to prove their greatness – Ennis doesn’t have the opposition at 147lbs who can enhance his legacy."
Is Algiers becoming a YES man ???
Bozy came out and said that Boots is having a greater problem making weight as he continues to fight at 147 but yet won’t make the move up and seemingly seems like he’s just being a weight bully
The fact that they really made a point of the 10 lbs rehydration of the IBF wasn’t in play , imo says it all

So why stay? Time to move on!
Because thats where hes at his best, he should be allowed to stay at the weight he performs his best at and performs his best. Why move up to a higher weight where he is not as good just to be a relatively lesser fighter? So he can test how good he is when he's not at his best?
Its akin to asking a prime Michael Jordan to wear ankle weights to really prove himself.

Crawford just disrespected his best win. Take out Spence he didn't have a rival at 140lb or 147lb. We are still trying to guage boots. Stantious was a good measuring stick.
As long as Boots is the favorite, how does he become great? He can beat all the Karens and Stans and all he'll get is criticism. He'll age out talking about not getting any respect. Everyone has to step up to fight him, but he wont step up.
Name me a fighter that became great after signing with Eddy. He buys talent then holds it dear, like fine crystal. AJ did the unification and Emails, all of it and Andy ran him out of town. HOF stuff right there.
I thought it was a good article and I agree with the main points. He will beat up the remaining champions at 147 and his first real challenge will be at 154 because for the first time he will be fighting guys his own size who can punch. Boots can be hit cleanly and at 154 those shots will hurt, so let's see what happens when he fights the likes of Ortiz and Murtazaliev.

Two more belts to secure before moving on. When Floyd moved to 147, he HAD to fight the belt holders (Zab and Baldomir) to enhance future fights at WW and to get a shot at the then cash cow, Oscar.
Boots unifying 147, makes him the 2nd man in history to do so albeit at a weak era but it enhances his brand and bargaining power. Let’s not forget boxing is still a business. Isn’t that why Ryan Garcia can command the kind of money he gets?
