Both things are true, in this case.
They made each other a lot of money for a large part of Golovkin's career - until the REALLY big money came in by fighting Canelo. That is when Golovkin fired him because he felt that Sanchez does not deserve 10% of a really big number but should be earning...

Same here. The quality of the writing (compared to other sites) is the main reason I have read articles on this site every day for close to 20 years now (since 2006)....Last edited by brankobugarski; Yesterday, 04:23 PM.JeBron Lamez likes this.

I still remember the promotion for the fight - it was all about the war between two warriors. I remember after the fight he turned his hat back to front to signify it was done and he won the war.JeBron Lamez likes this.

Yes, he has to put some work in at 154 once he is comfortable to tackle that. Until then, he is not a generational talent....wrecksracer likes this.

I think Usyk wins the second fight and I can't see him wanting to fight DDD again after that. Usyk is only a couple of fights away from retirement....

Boots is a massive talent and he does get hit. Right now he is fighting guys that he knows he is going to beat and not taking any risks by flirting with guys like Ortiz of this world. It was obvious in the ring on the weekend that he had no regard for what Stanionis had - power or skill. I have to admit...

Yeah, I am up for that scenario as it makes a lot of sense. On a side note, I think the promoters are realising that uncle Turki's lavish presents are coming to an end and that their businesses need to stand on their own two feet to survive the future competition that Dana White will provide....Left Hook Louie likes this.

I thought it was a good article and I agree with the main points. He will beat up the remaining champions at 147 and his first real challenge will be at 154 because for the first time he will be fighting guys his own size who can punch. Boots can be hit cleanly and at 154 those shots will hurt, so let's...

I feel that Boots is too big, too strong and too skilled for the remaining guys at 147. Sure, they can attempt to make fights with Barios and Norman but outcome is the same as Stanionis - he beats them up and stops them. Norman fights for $150K but rejected a $1.75M purse to fight Boots. What does that...

Just to be clear, I am not mad at Shakur. He is what he is, an evasive boxer and a counter puncher. What I find silly are these expectations that somehow he is going to beat up someone good and that one day he will really open up and let his hands go. He will beat them but he will not beat them up....LarryMerchant'sBottle likes this.

Hard disagree? Did you watch his fight with Artem Harutynyan? Every time Shakur hurt him and had in in trouble he would back off. Did he ever open up and let his hands go on Edwin de los Santos? I am not mentioning his last fight because that was a last minute substitute part time boxer....Last edited by brankobugarski; 04-14-2025, 06:01 AM.illpapi likes this.

Shakur has been begging for a fight with Tank for a long time and, quite frankly, it is embarrassing. It is obvious that Tank does not want to fight him. Shakur's next fight will be with Zapeda and, once again, it will be a boring points decision. No, he is not going to beat anybody up because that...Last edited by brankobugarski; 04-14-2025, 05:50 AM.illpapi

I agree with everything you say ... it's just at that level warriors are not supposed to give up that easily. Boots was definitely HUGE which is why I think he will only meet his real challenge when he goes up in weight and starts fighting guys his own size....

The only thing that really surprised me in that fight was how quickly and easily Stanionis and his corner gave up. Even though he landed a few clean shots on Boots he never really went for it and try to hurt him. I know Boots skills were far superior but fighting for two belts at a career high payday...

From my point of view, it looks like Boots is finally maturing. He accepted less money to get a meaningful fight and invested in his future by showing he believes in himself. He was patient in the ring and dissected Stanionis slowly not going for a quick KO and exposing himself to unnecessary counters....Last edited by brankobugarski; 04-13-2025, 04:34 PM.

That was an impressive performance and a good come back after the last lackluster fight. Boots is athletic and very strong. He knows he is better than his opposition and he shows it in the ring. He is full of confidence and unconcerned for what the other guy can do. I feel this is his best performance...DClefthook

Andy is the real deal. Cannot wait to see him fight for the title or even an eliminator. He is an underappreciated talent that is eager to fight on the main stage and showcase his talents. I would say bring it on. Cannot wait to see him fight Keyshawn down the line unless Keyshawn gets too big and outgrows...Last edited by brankobugarski; 04-12-2025, 10:30 PM.

I think everybody is expecting a comfortable Boots win. The only question that remains is - can he do better than Karen and hurt Boots. Perhaps show us some more vulnerabilities.
