Is there a possibility that BOXXER goes into free agency and puts Sky and TNT in a bidding war?

By far the biggest audience, Sky completely dominate the tv multimedia industry in this country and further dominate the sports sector. They hold the majority of the EPL rights which is the by far the most watched sports programming over here.

Boxing isn’t one of Sky’s main priorities tbf, they scaled back on it years ago, pre-Hearn tbh, it was when Warren was the lead promoter on Sky and that led to him creating Boxnation back in like 2011.

I’d suspect Shalom has a bigger budget on Sky than Frank has on TNT though. No idea what the DAZN budget is like, they seem to be willing to burn through money.

Sounds like ESPN in the USA. Is Sky Sports part of a cable TV package, or does it require an additional subscription? For example, Top Rank airs some of their cards on the ESPN channel. ESPN is normally bundled in higher-priced cable TV packages. However, some of their cards air on the ESPN+ app which requires a separate subscription. When BOXXER airs their cards, is it always on Sky Sports....or is their programming shown on different Sky channels?

I didn't know that budget cuts is what led to the creation of BoxNation. It sounds like BOXXER should already be planning an exit strategy should Sky dump them.

Looks like Hearn is gonna get bumrushed outta da zone after overselling and underdelivering for years.

If Mohammad Bone Sawman buys DAZN, bigtime boxing will be the Fisheyes and Desert Turki show with Fast Eddie licking their windows.

5 v 5 exposed Matchrooms stable of pretenders and with Princess Joshua being Hearn's only prize heifer, things are definitely on the out and out for him.

Fairplay for Young Edward to have milked AJ, DAZN and the Sauds for all they're worth but i fear them udders are drying up and he's run out of cash cows.

Less boxing on linear tv is always a downside IMO, but one big positive is it should create opportunities for Frank and Eddie to regularly work together which is something we’ve wanted for over a decade.

                Thoughts on this UK fans?
As a DAZN subscriber I'm happy. And a lot more fights can get made between QB and MR. But DAZN still isn't well known in the UK. It's going to be really hard to build house hold names and superstars. On a side note, GBM do good smaller shows too. I'm happy they've got a deal with DAZN too.

I don't know if its related, but I used to get tnt with my package then this year it changed and now I need to pay 18 to add it on to the same package it was included with prior, so probably like im not the only one who no longer has tnt sports lol , like on my provider there is now no package not even the highest all channels package includes tnt, you MUST pay the extra 18 on top.

Yeah good move from DAZN picking up GBM, you’re essentially catering to the hardcore boxing fans at this point, they should pick up several of the small hall cards I think.

It’s subscription based but like over 50% of the UK channels are owned by Sky, many households will have a package that includes internet, sometimes phone and then TV.

Yeah after Haye-Harrison and Wlad-Haye being PR disasters, Sky were ready to pull the plug on boxing in the UK and were going to just select certain PPV level fights to show behind a paywall. As much as Frank is a snake, he spent millions of his own money to help launch Boxnation and keep his fighters active. Because Sky now had a competitor in the market they decided to re-enter the boxing market, with Frank gone they needed a promoter, they wanted Hatton but he caught sniffing coke by the paparazzi, they then went to Maloney who was in process of becoming a transgender woman, they then went to Barry Hearn who passed straight on to Eddie who took the ball and ran with it.
