I don't think he's a HOF guy either but it's not crazy for a guy who has accomplished what he's accomplished to hold that in front of himself as a carrot. He has 6 wins over former/future world titlists (okay, one of them was JCC Jr lol), he went the distance with GGG and Canelo in their primes, he held the IBF world title (I don't recognize WBA "regular" reigns). He didn't get to that spot by not believing in himself.

Like I said, I have him as just a very good guy in his own era and not a HOF fighter. But in his mind he can come back and win another world title, and if he were to pull a win over Canelo or something out of his butt you'd have to reconsider. I'd personally prefer to see him hang the gloves up now after a respectable performance against Ryder (I had him winning), but fighters never know when to stop.

I still remember wondering why he wasn't doing more v Canelo, but it is what it is.

Last time out, he didn't look good. I'm sure that, as an athlete, it's always tempting to return to your sport, until you're undeniably unable. But it seems like he should move on.
