Tyson Fury was a -2000 betting favorite in round 8 vs Usyk. Who wins Fury vs Usyk 2???

    Crazy to think.

Fury was a -2000 betting favorite over Usyk in round 8.

Fury won 5 rounds in a row and hurt Usyk a few times in the middle rounds especially round 6.

Fury had this fight all wrapped up until the left caught him in the 9th round.

Who wins Fury vs Usyk 2???

He definitely let this one slip away and got himself to blame. He was winning then played around against a guy who has a superior engine, doesn’t stop adjusting and doesn’t give up lol fury paid dearly for his beint unfocused defensively and being complacent.

If fury no longer has that hunger and competitiveness then it’s usyk all over again in the rematch. I gotta feel first if fury really want to avenge his loss. And the way he’s being all too friendly about it says otherwise, i hope im wrong and he was just showing sportsmanship.

I understand what you're saying. Fury through rounds 2-7 was in COMPLETE control of this fight.

What do you think the odds for Fury vs Usyk 2 will be?

There were clearly times in rounds 4 and 6 where Usyk was completely frustrated and over matched imo. Fury is really live in the rematch imo.

I had money on Usyk and by like round 7 I had to go for a walk in the garden because I thought I'd done my money for sure. Fury was actually dominating at that stage.

I would pick Usyk in the rematch as he's the better conditioned fighter and I think in terms of body clock he's doing a bit better than Fury.

But it's not an AJ situation like where I just couldn't see AJ winning unless he went hell for leather and got lucky, it is possible fury wins a rematch if he boxes a bit sharper and doesn't get tagged with a big shot.

70/30 Usyk in the rematch but a watchable fight because there would be some question marks.

I think usyk will be the clear cut favorite in the rematch. Fury gotta prove to people he wants to avenge his loss so bad.. even before this fight i didn’t feel it in him how much he wanted it. Just kept saying another day in the office.

Actually one other factor, Fury has always done noticeably better in 2nd fights vs the same opponent

Usyk has had one rematch against AJ where he did the same or maybe slightly worse tbh

Point is Usyk I think is consistent with his performances. Every fight is the best of Uysk

Fury has more of a sliding scale, so in the rematch maybe he could take some confidence from that.

The main thing is though he would still need to do what I said he would need in THIS fight which is to mix up his style and not be one paced.

He was one paced, he was a back foot counter puncher and he only gave Usyk one look the whole fight. Exactly what I said to not do.

I don't believe Joshua will beat Usyk but only because he's tried twice and come up convincingly (if relatively closely) short twice.

But Fury really got battered in there. Usyk was better than him, busted him up, hurt him badly. Every time I watch it I see more and more of how good Usyk was.

I'd give either a 30% chance. That's fair for top level fighters with power. Usyk is simply better, but better fighters lose all the time.

Agree. Didn’t even try to push and slug when he had the momentum and got usyk hurt in the body. Fury showed so much respect to Usyk but at the same also unfocused defensively. He really let this one slipped away lol.

Fury did a lot better than AJ, yes fury got dropped but as the OP correctly stated Fury dominated the mid range portion of the fight and I do mean dominated, to the point he went to a 20/1 favourite. A couple more rounds of that and we were in Usyk needs a ko to win territory.

Joshua NEVER looked like the favourite in either fight, he never dominated any round even the 8th int he rematch where he missed most of his shots.
