Comments Thread For: Arum Set For 'The Most Important Boxing Event In The History Of Japan'

TOKYO - Amid respectful scenes in Yokohama between Naoya Inoue and Mexican opponent Luis Nery ahead of their unified super bantamweight title fight on Monday night, promoter Bob Arum was in fine form.

This is pretty much the hero vs the villain. Nery's history in Japan will want them seeing blood for destroying Yamanaka twice with the asterisks on em and Inoue is the guy that will give them what they want. If Nery actually took his training seriously, Inoue is in for a difficult night. If not, then this might get real ugly for Nery. Should be a fun one while it lasts.

The way Inoue demolished Fulton was so impressive.

He doesn't have to fight outside of Japan. Other than him being lured to Saudi Arabia for a huge money fight, why should he fight outside of Japan?

The market demand is there for him, and those weight classes are an attraction there, unlike in America.

I doubt it. Since he tested positive and came in over weight against Yamanaka, he hasn't looked half as good. Unless he somehow gets away with juicing again, he's getting KO'd.

Even tho he hasn't been as impressive since he moved up to 122, he has shown that he is still a tough guy to deal with. But Inoue is just something different. If he can avoid the big left hand, he most likely dominates this one.
