Hagler vs Leonard was like Superman vs Batman it was a lose...lose for me. *** Batman, he's dead to me.

Imagine thinking Leonard beat Hagler a clear 115-113 and saying ‘they’ wont accept it.

pure arrogance - I think the logical view when you move away from bias is Hagler won the fight

I remember the Hagler/Leonard fight as if it was yesterday. I definitely 100% consider Hagler won that fight and would have bet him in as many times as they fought.

I am delighted that Breadman chose to answer my question about Tyson. I asked it with respect and I was answered with respect. I don't agree with some aspects of the answer. For example, I think Tyson would have taken Dempsey apart. But I don't care about that. I like respect met with respect. Thanks, Breadman.

He ran around the ring and threw pitty-pat punches in the last 30 seconds of rounds. That ain't winning. Yes, Hagler started off wrong, but by the middle rounds he took over.
C'mon bruh, you got the Hagler avi.

I think it's safe to say you aint no less biased than Bread

Hagler ceded at least 4 0f the first 6 rounds to Leonard.

He barely laid a glove on Leonard in the first half of the fight.

And no he did not win 5 of the last 6 against Leonard.

Hagler threw more, but Leonard landed more in the official punch stats.

Leonard’s the guy that first attracted me to boxing. He was my boyhood idol. He’s still my favourite fighter of all time and I think he’s the greatest fighter of the past 45 years.
But Hagler DID win 5 of the last 6 rounds, as well as 2 of the first 6. Ray was so stylish that night he even looked great missing, catching Marvin’s gloves and getting whacked to the body. It was an incredible performance that enhanced his legacy but it was largely a mirage. He just faded too much in the second half of the fight. There really was nothing on his punches past the midway stage. But my biggest takeaway from the fight is to wonder just how great Leonard could have been if not for his inactivity. I think he might have been greater than Ali.

There's no denying I favor Hagler over SRL - and a lot of that has to do with their personalities. Both were incredible fighters. That fight should have happened years earlier and it would have been a much better fight. I stand by my assessment of the scoring. I don't care about punch stats (especially pitty-pat-punch stats). The avatar isn't just about Hagler, though, it's equally about the hat.

Yeah, people need to watch that fight really closely and disassociate themselves from Ray’s super stylish moves. I couldn’t do it for years. Now I can. He looked incredible for a guy with only one fight in the previous 5 years. God knows what he might have achieved from ‘83 onwards if active, but he just didn’t land with enough of note after the 6th round to beat Hagler. Impact matters.

mungia is 27 years old. and has better wins than 30 year old Gervante. I guess Bread won't say that, but I will
