Do you feel differently about it now? It's definitely not one punch KO power but it's enough to keep someone honest. That was what I was most interested in finding out last night. He's gonna be hard to beat at 140 imo.

Devin Haney's power

Yeah I feel differently about it, he couldn't hurt a blown up 126lber and now you can see the impact, hear it too when he lands. 135 was just too sapping for him it seems, he's to big to fight in manlet land.

I guess he really was draining himself to make 135 lbs.

I think it was speed/timing more than power. Just because he stunned Prograis doesn't mean Haney should be getting into firefights anytime soon.Oracle01

Not yet. He showed it vs one guy in 4 years. He’s bigger than said guy. Prograis is also old and on his way out.
In Malignaggi’s welterweight debut, he knocked out Michael Lozado and people had the same reaction. Some thought he would have more power at 147.

I think Haney just has that 147 version of Floyd esque pop, enough to respect not to just walk through but far from KO power.BodyBagz likes this.

he landed flush all night and the KO never happened but he did make him hesitant. Yeah I think comparable to floyd at 147-154, With devins big pumpkin head he is still going to have to move up pretty soon and he would have even less power at 147, so we will have to see if there is anyone out there with fast legs that can close the distance and pressure him.
He looked terrible with lomachenko who is far smaller than him but just had good leg work, but against a plodder he lit them up. I want to see him fight Tank, I want to see if tank can still catch him with his T rex arms or if Haney never gets caught cause then he can win a decision.BodyBagz

He might have a little more based on the Kambosos fight. These fights were similar, Regis and Kambosos. I thought it night be with both using a low guard and head/upper body movement to handle the jab but definitely thought Regis would land SOMETHING. I thought he’d hurt Devin at some point.
Anyway, Kambosos took the shots better than Regis. But we saw Regis get dropped by Zorilla with the same punch in the same way. Flash knockdown. Regis wasn’t hurt.
He buzzed Kambosos too, and in that weigh in he didn’t have 30 or 36 hours to rehydrate. So to be honest, there really isn’t that much difference.
Devin can hit you and maybe buzz or drop you with a quick punch, but he’s still not stopping anyone. The more I think about it, the more he looked just as he did in Kambosos 2.
So short answer: Not Really.
