Comments Thread For: Crawford Trainer on 'Boots' Ennis: He Don't Bring Nothin' to the Table; Terence Can Pick and Choose What He Wants To Do

Trainer Brian "Bomac" McIntyre doesn't feel that his ace client, Terence Crawford, is under any obligation to fight Jaron "Boots" Ennis. Omaha, Nebraska's Crawford was recently stripped of his IBF title, which he won in his high-profile undisputed welterweight title match against Errol Spence Jr. in July at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

This is true that boots at the moment doesn’t bring anything for Crawford besides a good fight but Crawford next opponent better be someone that people want to see or it will look like a duck. And if he fights Spence again it should be at 154 because with him losing the ibf there is no reason to fight at 147 anymore or it would like he wants to drain Spence. You can’t say you will fight charlo and canelo at 154 or 168 but won’t rematch Spence at 154.

Boots should get very busy , fight whoever for whatever money and look spectacular doing it if he wants this fight , he's got to build the demand for it from more than just us hardcore boxing fans.

Can't really badmouth Crawford, he has done everything asked of him. Boots would be an interesting fight but Crawford is looking for another big payday. Charlo-Crawford is another fight fans want.

Contract states rematch at 147. If spence wants it 154 he better be willing to give up a larger piece of the pie.

History repeats it's self , Bud couldn't get the big money fights at one stage and now what's probably the best welterweight matchup at this time , seems like Bud don't want it. I understand there's probably more money and even easier fights to be made elsewhere..It's a shame but you see this time and time again.

Boots has worked hard to get to where he is at this point in his career. He may be an email IBF champ but nevertheless, this gives him a little more clout and bargaining power. Crawford has earned the right to fight whoever he wants if that's the excuse that they want to use. Boots would give Crawford lots of problems if they should fight and Crawford doesn't want to get embarrassed if he should lose that fight. Boots was the #1 contender for the IBF title that Crawford used to own. What more does Boots have to do to get a damn fight with Crawford? Win or lose, after Crawford beats up Spence again, he should fight Boots.

Lewis fought Grant, Tua and lots of upcoming contenders and beat them. Ali fought Spinks. History is made up of champions fighting up and coming fighters to hear this crap from Crawford's camp. Times have changed with boxing. I bet if Boots got wobbled in a few of his fights and knocked down then Crawford would have fought him a long time ago.

The new hire doesn't get to walk in and demand a meeting with the CEO. Doesn't work like that, muchacho. Ennis hasn't fought anyone from the PBC stable and just wants zoom ahead of the line to the top guy in the division. He hasn't earned it yet. Bud's just gonna hand him the opportunity to be in a position it took him 15+ professional years to get to? FOH.

Once he gets the Spence rematch out of the way Crawford can make way more $$$ against the likes of Tim Tszyu in Australia. Or against Canelo. Or even Jermell Charlo.

Ennis brings no money to the table.

Fast forward 5-6 years and it'll be Ennis' trainer telling us how Boots has the earned the right to pick and choose, that he only wants big fights and doesn't need to face the next young hungry up-and-coming guy.

And on and on it goes.
