Have been re-reading Four Kings and it talks about that time being the last Golden Age of boxing but I disagree.
A book should be written charting the time from Mike Tyson's defeat of Berbick to claim the world title all the way to Vitali Klitschko's first retirement in December 2004.
Fighters like Tyson, Lewis, Bowe, Holyfield, Foreman and Vitali could all be examined in detail and it could be highlighted that those who competed for our affections and sought out and faced down competition have been replaced with boxers who try to monopolise the sport and avoid competition.
I wish someone would put together such a book. I would if I had the contacts George Kimball had when he wrote Four Kings. There are journalists out there who have that experience who had access to training camps for these fights and who could cover it.
