Very good fighter. History should be much more kind to him than it has so far!

Close decision matches with Foreman, Ali, Norton, Shavers and Lyle clearly demonstrate his class.

Though dare I say it, he did get the nod over Foreman. The Lyle fights were quite big too.

The only really big ones that he lost in his prime were the close ones to Ali and Norton. I dont think he deserved either verdict, but hand on heart...they were close.

Jimmy Young beat foreman in a big fight which is better than anything chris bryd ever did, he was also beat ron lyle, which is better than any of bryds wins against an old evander, tua or ruiz. Byrds best win was when he got lucky and vitali pulled out of a fight that he was ahead on the score cards with a freak injury.

Chris Byrd beat Evander Holyfield, David Tua & Vitali Klitschko, Byrd beat Klitschko fair & square with Vitali making an excuse to avoid being KOd.



IMO Young was a very fortunate winner against Foreman i have watched the fight several times and always see Foreman winning at least 7 rounds, i can never see how Young won that fight.
