This is a fight many wanted years ago, but Zags retired. I was always a fan of Froch. He got the most out of his gifts and was willing to take on anyone, and was very entertaining. While I doubt this fight actually happens I'd be rooting for Carl. If it does happen, how do you think it would go with both being out of the ring so long? 11 years for Froch, 17 for Calzaghe.

Now, we slowly understood during his career that he had an all time chin allayed with a big punch to be a great fighter in any era, but at the time Joe retired his hands were about as brittle as an ol' lady, hence his Slappy Joe moniker. With the money he made in the US, he bought his first homestead with enough left to retire on. He didn't make squat whilst under British contract.

Prime for prime.
Calzaghe was absolutely phenomonal before his hands went. Despite all the slappsy yank insults.
Froch was the nearest thing to an old school 1930's fighter.
He was not at his best v Ward.
Great fight.
Joe wins on pts but it would not be easy.

In their prime I would give the edge to Calzaghe. In a comeback fight I would favor Froch. Less time retired, a
pears to have kept up with his conditioning. Joe struggled with drugs and alcoholism for a while. I think this would be more of a Tyson/RJJ type exhibition rather than an all out fight.
