Danish Primetime Promotions staged a show in Pandrup with unbeaten cruisers Steffen Rorstrom, 5-0 (2 KOs), and Kilal Hallie, 13-1 (8 KOs) and from the Netherlands, battling it out for the inaugural International Danish title.
Neither southpaw had gone 10 rounds before, and the counter-punching tactics of both made for a close, tactical fight with many even rounds. Rorstrom was floored by a body punch late in the fourth and was hurt by a shot to the temple in the ninth but got the win on a split decision, 96-93 and 95-94 with 95-94 Hallie on the third card.
Lightweight prospect Elias Idrissi, 9-0 (5 KOs), showed he is ready for bigger things as he knocked out inept Hungarian Sandor Szabo, 11-1 (10 KOs), in the second of a scheduled eight rounder.
Ukraine’s former world-class amateur Denys Preotskyy, a 3-0 (1 KOs) junior middleweight fought Sweden’s Mohammed Al Maliki, 3-2, a second time and won again, even though it was a lot closer this time. After six, the judges had it 59-55 twice and 58-54.
During the April 12 show, it was announced that super middle Oliver Zaren, 16-0 (7 KOs) and pictured, has signed with Primetime Boxing. Zaren has previously been promoted by Wasserman but has been a freelancer since last year. The 25-year-old “Great Dane” now has WBO No. 7 super middle and WBO Global champ Jacob Bank as a stablemate, but promoter Kasper Holgersen made it clear that these two would not be matched against each other no matter how natural it seems. Instead, Zaren will continue to be carefully matched and built up separately while Bank will be moved on a different path.
Zaren will headline the next Primetime show, which is scheduled for June 14 in Copenhagen.
